WeWork keeps Keeton to head fund

US-based co-working space provider WeWork has tasked Emily Keeton with leading a newly formed corporate venturing fund, the Wall Street Journal has reported.

WeWork Creator Fund will invest in startups focusing on areas such as the future of work, according to people familiar with the matter. As managing director, Keeton will run a five-person team, one source said.

Keeton joined WeWork in May 2017 as global head of mergers and acquisitions, and the company has since made a string of acquisitions including social network Meetup, workspace provider Naked Hub and workplace management technology provider Teem.

Prior to joining WeWork, Keeton spent nine months as head of M&A for digital media holding company IAC.

Keeton was also co-founder and CEO of Flavour, a restaurants review app that raised $1.1m from investors including media company Scripps Networks Interactive before being acquired in 2015.
