US-based identity verification software provider Emailage raised $10m from investors including Wipro Ventures, the strategic investment arm of IT services provider Wipro, yesterday.
Investment firm Anthos Capital led the round, which also featured growth equity firm Radian Capital, venture capital fund Mucker Capital and VC firm Tallwave Capital.
Emailage has built a platform that verifies a user’s identity in real time by assessing their email transaction history and generating a predictive risk score.
The company will channel the funding into strengthening its platform and expanding in key markets including North and Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The latest funding follows a round featuring Mucker Capital and VC firms Felicis Ventures and Double M Partners that closed at $5.7m in April 2016, according to a regulatory filing.
Rei Carvalho, chief executive of Emailage, said: “This investment will allow us to continue our rapid growth, enhance our leadership position in the online fraud detection market and deliver significant fraud prevention capabilities to businesses around the world.”
