US-based cloud workspace provider Workspot raised $6.5m in series A funding on Friday in a round featuring Qualcomm Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of telecoms company Qualcomm.
Venture capital fund Hellon Ventures led the round, which also included VC firm Translink Capital. Qualcomm previously invested in Workspot’s $3.3m seed round alongside Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Northwest Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Webb Investment Network and various angel investors in 2013.
Workspot, which describes itself as a workspace-as-a-service company, recently launched a mobile app that allows users to access data and applications behind a firewall from any mobile device without the requirement of software. It will aim to scale its business up using the new capital.
