US-based analytics software developer Visible Technologies has been acquired by public relations software providers Cision and Vocus for an undisclosed amount, giving an exit to UK-based marketing company WPP.
Visible Technologies is a media monitoring and analytics software producer that provides users with social media monitoring, enriched data analytics and insights, and customer engagement.
The acquisition will allow Cision and Vocus, which are both owned by private equity firm GTCR, to deliver advanced social intelligence analytics.
Visible raised $24m in funding in 2012, which was partly used to acquire buying peer Cyform. In 2011 the company received $6m from a consortium including WPP, In-Q-Tel, which acts as the venture capital representative of the US intelligence community, and venture capital firms Investor Growth Capital and Ignition Partners.
