Katherine Wu, senior manager at Coinbase Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of blockchain developer Coinbase, is joining early-stage venture capital firm Archetype as a venture partner, according to Bloomberg.
Wu previously worked at Notation Capital, a venture capital firm, and Messari, a crypto research and data platform, before joining Coinbase in September just after GCV Rising Stars award winner Steven Willinger took over. (Willinger was part of the Global Financial Council of CVCs webinar as part of the first quarter report.)
Wu had also co-hosted Coinbase’s podcast, Around the Block, on crypto trends and been one of the most active investors last year.
She said in her annual review: “2021 was a record year for Coinbase Ventures, with just under 150 deals, averaging a new deal every 2.5 days. On a cumulative basis, more than 90% of the capital Coinbase Ventures has deployed since inception was deployed in 2021.”
On Twitter she added: “I will continue to invest and support the best founders in the crypto ecosystem, but also excited to spend time exploring some side projects.”
