US-based smart home technology provider Wyze Labs has completed a $15m funding round featuring American Family Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of insurance firm American Family.
The round was led by venture capital firm Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) with contributions from Marcy Venture Partners and Amino Capital. It follows a $10m first tranche from American Family Ventures and NVP in May this year.
Founded in 2017, Wyze develops smart household devices that can connect to the internet. Its products include a connected light bulb and home security camera, in addition to a smart wristband that can operate all its devices.
NVP led a $20m series A round for the company in January 2019, following an undisclosed amount of seed funding from iSeed Ventures.
Yun Zhang, Wyze’s co-founder and CEO, said: “Being friends with customers is at the heart of everything we do. This new [funding] will allow us to continue on our mission to make smart home technology accessible to all by building features and new products recommended by our users.”
