China-based holiday room listings site Xiaozhu has secured $15m in its series B round from Legend Capital, conglomerate Legend Holdings’ corporate venturing fund, and venture capital firm Morningside Ventures, Tech in Asia reported yesterday.
Xiaozhu operates a service much like a more budget-focused version of the one offered by Germany-based Airbnb, enabling users to list their homes for use by tourists. It currently has 2.6 million rooms listed across around 160 Chinese cities.
The funding follows a January 2013 series A round in which Xiaozhu raised almost $10m from VantagePoint Ventures, BlueRun Ventures and Sequoia Capital.
