Yi+ reveals $15m vision

Yi+, a China-based artificial intelligence company backed by video streaming platform Youku Tudou, has raised RMB100m ($15m) in a series B round, China Money Network wrote today.

The funding came from financial services firms Bairongjun Group, Bank of Beijing and Haitong Securities.

Founded in 2014, Yi+ is working on machine vision technology that is able to track and identify objects and faces in films and TV dramas. Viewers are then able to buy the products or see more information about an actor while they continue to watch the movie or show.

The series B cash will go toward further technology development and business expansion.

Yi+ previously received tens of millions of dollars in a 2015 series A round that featured Youku Tudou and LeBox Capital.
