Yub, a US-based marketing technology company which enables rewards identified online to be earned by shoppers when making card-based purchases at bricks and mortar retailers and restaurants, has been launched with $12m funding from credit card company Visa Inc and venture capital firms Atomico, Battery Ventures, DAG Ventures, DFJ Growth, Greylock Partners, Index Ventures, T. Rowe Price, and QuestMark Partners.
Yub has been spun out of marketing technology company TrialPay, a marketing technology and payment platform company founded in 2006, and shares the same set of investors.
Alex Rampell, chief executive officer of Yub, said: “Yub provides businesses with a direct link between online advertising and offline revenue, improving the effectiveness of online campaigns and driving in-store purchases on a massive scale, utilizing the demonstrated power of the online affiliate network model.”
