Zenjob posts $17m series B

Germany-based staffing business Zenjob has raised €15m ($17m) in a series B round led by Axa Venture Partners, the corporate venturing arm of insurance group Axa.

Venture capital firms Acton Capital Partners, Redalpine and Atlantic Labs also took part in the series B round.

Zenjob’s platform automates the recruitment process and enables students to find and apply for temporary jobs through their smartphones.

To date, the company said it has supplied student workers to more than 1,000 clients and on average, it staffs more than 10,000 temporary jobs with students every month.

The capital will be used to further develop the software, improve the automated matching procedure between job offers and the candidate and expand across Germany.

Imran Akram, general partner at Axa Venture Partners, said: “On-demand employment is a global megatrend in the job market. The demand for temporary staff is continuously increasing. At the same time, employees are seeking a flexible and self-determined working life.”

In September 2017, Zenjob raised $5.9m in a series A round led by Acton Capital, which featured Redalpine and Atlantic Labs.
