Juliet Zhu, formerly a Singapore-based director at Fosun RZ Capital, a corporate venturing vehicle for diversified conglomerate Fosun, has joined Malaysia-headquartered second-hand vehicle marketplace Carsome as chief financial officer.
Zhu was hired by Fosun RZ Capital in early 2018 as a principal concentrating on e-commerce, financial technology, logistics and mobility deals. She ascended to director of Southeast Asia a year later and shifted her focus to automotive, social media and new retail startups.
Fosun RZ’s portfolio companies include autonomous vehicle technology producer DeepRoute, property e-commerce platform Zhuge.com, shuttle service operator Loca Rides and audio-based social media platform Headfone.
Zhu will lead Carsome’s growth strategy, identifying new business opportunities and engaging with the tech ecosystem on behalf of the company, building partnerships and conducting mergers and acquisitions deals in addition to helping it raise equity and debt funding, according to a statement cited by Tech In Asia.
Concerning her new role, Zhu said on LinkedIn: “It is a great honour to have the trust of the team at Carsome. Only with this group of ruthless executors can I start my next chapter as an operator and builder with humility, audacity and the faith to leap.”
