Nasdaq-listed online games developer Zynga has bought Softbank-backed peer OMGpop, for a reported $210m, including employee retention bonuses.
OMGpop publishes Draw Something, which is the top game on social network Facebook.
In January last year, OMGpop raised $10.1m in its series B round from Softbank Capital, the US-based corporate venturing unit of Japan’s eponymous internet conglomerate, and venture capital firms, Rho Ventures, Spark Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners, according to news provider Fortune.
Its 2007 seed funding came from angel investors and A round led by Spark Capital.
Softbank had also backed Zynga before its flotation last year.
