US-based senior care provider Hometeam secured $27.5m today in a series B round backed by Recruit Strategic Partners, human resources provider Recruit’s corporate venturing arm.
The round also featured contributions by growth equity fund Oak HC/FT and venture capital firms Lux Capital and IA Ventures.
Hometeam offers in-home and assisted living care for elderly clients, as well as additional services such as personalised care planning, expert caregiver matching and custom mobile technology.
The funding will support the strengthening of Hometeam’s medical and technology development. It also intends to expand from its core markets in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia to new states and cities later this year.
Josh Bruno, founder and chief executive of Hometeam, said: “Hometeam is about creating beautiful days for older adults while giving family members peace of mind.
“The marriage of technology and high quality in-home care will revolutionise our industry and this new round of funding will enable us to build out our platform and offer truly unique and specialised care to older adults in other locations.”
Recruit Strategic Partners, Lux Capital and IA Ventures had already provided $11m in series A funding for Hometeam in July 2015.
