Soracom, a Japan-based internet-of-things platform developer backed by conglomerate Mitsui, has received ¥600m ($5.7m) from Pavilion Capital, a private equity subsidiary of Singaporean state-owned fund Temasek, The Bridge has reported.
The company launched in March 2015 and provides network services to mobile users. It recently opened a Singaporean subsidiary and Pavilion’s investment will support international growth.
Mitsui participated in a $22m series B round closed by Soracom last month, according to The Bridge. The round also featured World Innovation Lab, Infinity Venture Partners, and undisclosed venture capital firms and businesses, and took Soracom’s total funding to $28m.
