Education services provider TAL Education Group has provided $18m in series C+ funding for China-based tutoring services marketplace Changingedu, China Money Network has reported.
Changingedu operates a platform that enables parents to book tutors for their children, and also offers online tutoring, consultancy services and video learning. The company’s service is available in 11 Chinese cities and it has served more than 200,000 customers.
TAL Education led the $100m series C round closed by Changingedu in October 2015, investing together with IDG Capital Partners, the local venture capital partner of IT media firm International Data Group, as well as Sequoia Capital and TBP Capital.
IDG Capital and TBP Capital, also known as TrustBridge Partners, supplied an undisclosed amount of series A funding to Changingedu in February 2015 before Sequoia led a $15m series B round, according to China Money Network.
