Oracle to extend accelerator to seven new cities

US-headquartered cloud computing software provider Oracle has expanded its Startup Cloud Accelerator initiative and will open a series of new branches internationally.

Oracle launched the Accelerator program in Bangalore, India, in April 2016. The six-month scheme provides technical and business mentoring as well as technology, a co-working space and access to the corporate’s investors, partners and customers.

The new accelerators will be located in Mumbai and the Delhi-National Capital Region in India, as well as Singapore; Paris, France; São Paulo, Brazil; Tel Aviv, Israel; and Bristol in the UK. Reports of its entry into Israel initially emerged earlier this month.

Thomas Kurian, president of product development of Oracle, said: “After a successful launch in Bangalore, India, we’re committed to building a supportive ecosystem for startups across the globe.

“Cloud is enabling incredible innovations across every aspect of business and across every industry. We want to support this next technology revolution powered by cloud.”
