Thakker joins Intel Capital

Dharmesh Thakker (pictured) has joined Intel Capital as an investment director. He previously was a vice-president with Advanced Technology Ventures, a venture capital firm founded in 1979, for two years.

His deals included taking board seats at portfolio companies Qumu,
 Nuventix and
 Calisolar and working on Omneon (acquired by Harmonic for about $275m and involving Intel in the consortium), PacketDesign and Actifio.

Intel Capital has about 160 people in its investment team as the world’s largest value-added venture investor. It has invested about $10bn in 20 years.
