Pie Digital carves up $8m

Pie Digital, a US-based device networking company backed by Deutsche Telekom’s corporate venturing unit, has raised $8m.

Pie Digital is also backed by venture firm Foundry Group, according to a prior article by news provider VentureBeat.

Thorsten Claus, senior investment manager at T-Venture, said: “Consumers and businesses struggle with the management of the plethora of network connected devices, from PCs, tablets and phones to entertainment systems, game stations, fitness devices, home automation and security systems. Last year Pie Digital raised $1.2m of a planned $4m round, according to a filing with US regulator Securities and Exchange Commission.

In 2010, it raised $3.7m of a planned $6m round, and  $6m of a planned $7.6m round, according to two separate SEC filings.

In 2008 it raised $8.6m of a planned $10.1m round, according to another filing.

While in also in 2008 it raised $2.4m, according to another filing.
