ABM Respiratory breathes in series A cash

ABM Respiratory Care, the Singapore-based developer of medical devices intended to help people breathe, raised $10.3m yesterday in a series A round co-led by medical technology provider Advanced MedTech.

Seeds Capital, the investment arm of the state-owned Enterprise Singapore, co-led the round, and ABM has not revealed details of any previous financing.

Founded in 2017, ABM has developed a ventilator system for patients on life support in addition to a non-invasive device that helps clear patients’ airways.

The funding will support ABM’s commercialisation plans in the United States, where it received regulatory approval for its BiWaze Airway Clearance System earlier this year.

The company also announced the appointment of Peter Soderberg as chairman. He is already chairman of publicly traded medical device maker Tactile Medical.
