Amanda Hayward, the former senior vice president of life sciences advisory and venture capital firm Scheer and Company, has become a partner at Baxalta Ventures, the investment vehicle of biopharmaceutical company Baxalta.
Hayward first joined Scheer in 2000 as an associate before being promoted to vice president in 2002 and then senior vice president in 2008.
She was also involved in the founding and served as chief financial officer of biopharmaceutical company Sopherion Therapeutics, regenerative medicine company Tengion and biotechnology company Optherion.
Before joining Scheer, she was a postdoctoral fellow at Yale University, holding a Life Sciences Research Foundation Bristol Myers Squibb fellowship.
