Apptimize, the US-based app testing optimisation platform developer backed by internet technology group Alphabet, received $12.4m yesterday in a series B round led by venture capital firm US Venture Partners (USVP).
Glynn Capital Management, Goldcrest Investments, Western Technology Investments, Twin Gables and angel investor Ken Ross also took part in the round, and USVP partner Dafina Toncheva will join Apptimize’s board of directors.
Apptimize’s optimisation software offers A/B Testing, instant updates, and feature tracking and measurement to speed up iteration of native iOS and Android apps. The company will use the funding to accelerate international growth.
Nancy Hua, co-founder and CEO of Apptimize, said: “Our simple and intuitive tools help mobile developers and business teams work together to optimise customer experiences, increase revenue and engagement, improve user ratings and react quickly to changing trends.
“This is why Apptimize is already loaded on over 1.3 billion consumer devices, and growing quickly across the globe.”
Apptimize has now raised $18.5m altogether, securing $2.1m in a 2014 seed round featuring Alphabet subsidiary GV, then known as Google Ventures, as well as Merus Capital, XG Ventures and 27 additional investors. VC firm Costanoa Venture Capital subsequently led its $4m series A round in February 2015.
