Argyle, the US-headquartered developer of an employment verification platform, has secured $20m in a series A round backed by identity-checking software producer Checkr.
Private equity firm Bain Capital led the round through venture capital subsidiary Bain Capital Ventures. It included F-Prime Capital, a VC arm of investment and financial services group Fidelity, as well as Bedrock Capital and angel investors Zach Abrams, Aaron Frank, Zach Weinberg and Nat Turner.
Founded in 2018, Argyle has created a cloud software platform that verifies individuals’ employment histories and income. Checkr and Bain Capital Ventures had co-led its $2.6m seed round in September 2019.
The startup said its software was used to verify some 10 million employment records last month alone. It can be used to inform processes such as loan applications or recruitment.
Shmulik Fishman, Argyle’s founder and chief executive, said: “In creating a new access point for employee data, we are reimagining consumer experiences and opening up new business opportunities.
“We invite developers, industry veterans and enterprises looking for alternatives to employment data access to partner with us. We are excited to see what you can build with Argyle.”
