Arviem raises $10m B round

Arviem, a Switzerland-based cargo monitoring and supply chain data analytics services provider, has raised $10m in its series B round from a consortium led by Sicpa, a provider of secured identification, traceability and authentication solutions and services.

Swisscom Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of local telecommunications firm Swisscom, and Verve Capital Partners / Investiere.ch reinvested in Arviem, and were joined by new investors HiQ Solutions, Chanco Holding, Nest and private investors.

Total funding to $15m, including SFr1.35m in December 2013.

Sauro Nicli, member of the executive committee at Sicpa, said: “The container shipping industry is embracing technology to improve productivity and cut costs. So far, [however,] the industry has been slow in responding to technological advances, the change brought about by digitalization is now coming to shipping and logistics and the rate of adoption of new technologies is accelerating. Therefore, companies offering products and services tailored for this market, such as Arviem, are positioned for ongoing success.”
