US-based cybersecurity technology producer AttackIQ has collected $17.6m in a series B round that included the corporate venturing subsidiaries of enterprise software provider Salesforce and telecommunications firm Telstra.
Salesforce Ventures and Telstra Ventures were joined by Khosla Ventures, which led the round, and fellow venture capital firm Index Ventures. Brian Byun, a partner at Khosla Ventures, has joined the company’s board of directors in conjunction with its investment.
Founded in 2013, AttackIQ provides security validation software that helps users test and assess the effectiveness of security producers, controls and staff, providing cost effective ways of preventing or detecting attacker behaviours.
The series B funds will be to further develop AttackIQ’s platform, expand its field operations and increase headcount. Qualcomm Ventures, the investment arm of mobile semiconductor producer Qualcomm, took part in its $8.8m series A round in 2016, investing alongside Telstra Ventures and Index Ventures.
