Auth0, a US-based identity authentication software producer backed by telecommunications companies NTT Docomo and Telstra, raised $55m on Tuesday in a series D round led by venture capital firm Sapphire Ventures.
World Innovation Lab, Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP), Trinity Ventures, Meritech Capital Partners and K9 Ventures also took part in the round, which the company said increased its overall financing to more than $110m.
Founded in 2013, Auth0 has created what it calls a Universal Identity Platform, enabling companies to give employees a single identity across web, mobile, internal and internet-of-things applications.
The company will invest the series D cash in enhancing the Universal Identity Platform and growing its business internationally.
Meritech led Auth0’s $30m series C round in June 2017, investing alongside BVP, Trinity Ventures, K9 Ventures, NTT Docomo and Telstra, the latter two participating through their NTT Docomo Ventures and Telstra Ventures units.
The company’s earlier financing had been provided by BVP, K9, Trinity, Portland Seed Fund, Silicon Valley Bank and NXTP Labs.
Eugenio Pace, co-founder and chief executive of Auth0, said: “We are humbled by the support from our investors, and emboldened in our mission to provide the most extensible, powerful and easy-to-use identity management solution available.
“We look forward to using these funds to make our product and company even better, and to continue offering value to our incredible customers around the world.”
