China-based exam training education institute Wanxue has raised ‘tens of millions’ of dollars in series C funding from China-based iand search engine provider Baidu, China Money Network reported on Tuesday.
Wanxue offers exam preparation for education entrance exams, professional development courses and civil service exams. It will use the new funds to expand its online content and to partner with offline institutions.
The company previously raised $20m in a 2008 series A round backed by Legend Capital, the corporate venturing unit of conglomerate Legend Holdings, and venture capital firm Sequoia Capital.
The two were joined by venture capital firm DCM and Singapore-based private equity group F&H Fund Management for a $20m series B round in 2011.
