Cloud9, the US-based developer of a remote collaboration system for web and mobile developers, has raised an undisclosed amount of series B funding from venture capital firm Balderton Capital.
The funding follows a $5.55m series A round raised in 2011 from software producer Atlassian and VC firm Atlas Venture.
Cloud9 CEO Ruben Daniel said the recently released third iteration of the company’s cloud-based integrated development environment (IDE) is the first that can match desktop IDEs for performance.
“This new investment allows us to take Cloud9 to the next stage,” Daniels added. “We think that Cloud9 can be a very important part of the modern software development process and we are moving very quickly into that direction. This round gives us the capability to get there.”
