Blockfolio, the US-based developer of a cryptocurrency portfolio tracking app, has closed an $11.5m series A round featuring digital currency exchange operators Bitmex and Huobi.
Cryptocurrency-focused investment firm Pantera Capital led the round, which included Founders Fund’s Pathfinder vehicle, NKB Group, Refactor Capital, Abstract Ventures, DCM Ventures, Digital Horizon Capital, Mayfield Fund, Chapter One Ventures, Global Blockchain Innovation Capital, Block72 and Nirvana Capital.
Founded in 2014, Blockfolio has launched a mobile app that allows market traders to track the value of portfolio investments in more than 3,000 digital currencies. The app is free to download and can monitor investments on a profit, loss or cost basis.
The company aims to keep its service free and will use the series A money to support further innovation, having recently introduced a feature allowing token operators to communicate directly with investors. Pantera Capital partner Paul Veradittakit will join Blockfolio’s board of directors in conjunction with its investment.
Blockfolio received $3m in a May 2018 seed round that included DCM Ventures, L2 Ventures and Playground Ventures. It had previously raised approximately $400,000 in funding between 2014 and November 2017, according to regulatory filings.
