Bracket Computing unfolds itself with $85m

US-based cloud software company Bracket Computing has come out of stealth mode after raising $85m in funding from investors including wireless technology manufacturer Qualcomm and industrial conglomerate General Electric.

Venture capital firms Andreessen Horowitz, Norwest Venture Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures, Artis Ventures and Allegis Capital also invested alongside GE and Qualcomm, which participated through its Qualcomm Ventures subsidiary.

Bracket, which was founded in 2011, provides software for running applications on multiple clouds.

The company will use the funding to develop the recently launched Bracket Computing Cell, an enterprise infrastructure service that comprises security, storage, computing and networking in a software system spanning across multiple hyperscale clouds.
