Branding Brand, a US-based mobile commerce platform for retailers, has secured $9.5m in series B funding led by existing investor, venture capital firm Insight Venture Partners; the round includes repeat investment from venture capital firm CrunchFund and growth equity firm Lead Edge Capital, along with new participation from eBay Enterprise, an eBay company that develops online shopping sites for bricks and mortar retailers and brands.
Branding Brand’s total funding now totals $17m, having previously raised $7.5m series A funding in October 2012.
Branding Brand will use the investment to scale sales, marketing, and operations.
Chris Mason, Branding Brand co-founder and chief executive officer, said: “With nearly $1 billion in transactions running through our platform, and our recent expansion into hospitality and transportation, it is a very exciting time.”
Ryan Hinkle, managing director at Insight Venture Partners, said: “We recognized the opportunity and vision for Branding Brand earlier in the company’s evolution, and given their strong momentum, we are delighted to lead this new financing.”
Branding Brand was founded in 2008 by three friends from Carnegie Mellon University.
