Bravo Sierra, a US-based supplier of grooming products tailored to military personnel, has completed a $12m series A round featuring Grace Beauty Capital, a corporate venturing subsidiary of cosmetics distributor Grace Beauty.
The round was led by Global Founders Capital, the venture capital fund formed by the co-founders of e-commerce group Rocket Internet, and included Mousse Partners, Canaan Partners, Redo Ventures and Lapa Capital.
Founded in 2018, Bravo Sierra develops and markets personal care products like body wash and hair cream that are designed to cater to the lifestyles of highly-active consumers such as military personnel.
The products are tested with 1,000 active troops enrolled through Bravo Sierra’s purpose-built software platform, and the company plans to donate 5% of revenues to a Department of Defense-funded welfare scheme.
Bravo Sierra said it has now raised nearly $20m altogether and plans to upgrade its software platform and broaden its product range ahead of launch.
Global Founders Capital led a seed round for Bravo Sierra in 2018 that was sized at $6.7m according to media reports, investing alongside Mousse Partners, Canaan Partners, Redo Ventures and Lapa Capital.
