CA Technologies has formed a strategic partnership with IDG Ventures India, the India focused corporate venturing arm of IDG Ventures and International Data Group, to gain access to potential acquisitions within the enterprise software sector. CA wants to have the opportunity to invest while the technology is at the start-up stage and also gain proprietary trend data for enterprise software start-ups.
“We believe in the growth and innovation of India’s development community,” said Jacob Lamm, executive vice president of Strategy and Corporate Development, CA Technologies. “With IDG Ventures India, we have a proven partner who can help us gain early visibility into the many enterprise software start-ups in the region that represent compelling investment opportunities.”
The investment also complements the organic growth planned for CA Technologies in its R&D and Engineering centres, along with expansion into enterprise markets including mobility, cloud, Software-as-a-Service, big data and DevOps. Acquiring new technologies will enable CA to quickly ‘roll-in’ successful technology into its product portfolio.
