Ceros, a US-based digital content creation platform backed by CNF Investments, the investment firm affiliated with construction firm Clark Enterprises, picked up $100m in funding on Thursday.
Sumeru Equity Partners led the round, which also included unnamed members of Ceros’ management and undisclosed existing shareholders.
Founded in 2013, Ceros has created a cloud-based design software for brands and publishers to build immersive, scalable and interactive content without requiring any coding expertise.
The company’s more than 500 clients include multinational corporations such as publisher Condé Nast, beverage producer Red Bull, computing technology company IBM and media group NBC.
Ceros has raised more than $130m in funding to date. It obtained $14m in series C capital in March 2019 from CNF Investments, Grotech Ventures, Sigma Prime Ventures, StarVest Partners, Greycroft, Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and lead investor Greenspring Associates.
CNF Investments also took part in an $8m series B round in 2016 that was led by Sigma Prime. The series B investors also included StarVest, Greycroft and SVB, the same three backers who had provided $6.2m in series A financing in 2014.
