Ceros, the US-based developer of an interactive content creation platform, received $8m in series B funding on Tuesday from investors including CNF Investments, the financial affiliate of construction firm Clark Enterprises.
Venture capital firm Grotech Ventures led the round, which also included Sigma Prime Ventures, StarVest Partners, Greycroft Partners and Silicon Valley Bank.
Ceros has built an interactive platform and cloud-based design studio that allows designers and marketing staff to create and collaborate on content without the need for coding. The content can be shared through a link or an embed code on the user’s website.
The capital will go to further develop the platform and expand its reach. Ceros also intends to accelerate growth of its sales, marketing and client services capabilities.
Ceros has now raised approximately $16.5m since it was founded in 2013, having secured $6.2m in a 2014 series A round backed by Sigma Prime, Starvest and Greycroft.
Simon Berg, co-founder and CEO of Ceros, said: “It is simple: the more people create, the happier and more inspired we are. We believe in a future where creative tools and platforms like ours are freely available to the creative community.
“The end goal for all those in the business of building tools and products that create should be to create more. That requires some radical thinking and disruptive business models, and we hope to be pioneers in that space.”
