Computer network server company Cisco Systems has agreed to acquire US-based JouleX, a provider of enterprise energy management solutions for network-attached and data centre assets, for $107m in cash and retention-based incentives. The deal is expected to close in the forth quarter.
JouleX had raised $17m in funding in 2011 from corporate venturing unit Intel Corp and venture capial firms Target Partners, Flybridge Capital Partners, Sigma Partners and TechOperators.
This is the latest in several recent acquisitions for Cisco. Last month the company acquired networking company Ubiquisys for around $310m, following purchases of Intucell for $475m and Meraki for $1.2bn.
