Cloud9, a Netherlands-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for web and mobile applications, has raised $5.5m in its series A round from a consortium including Australia-based Atlassian Software.
US-based venture capital firm Accel Partners also invested in Cloud9’s round having also provided Atlassian’s $60m A round in July last year.
Cloud9 is understood to be opening an office in San Francisco, where Atlassian’s US office is based.
Scott Farquhar, chief executive of Atlassian, said: "Development in the cloud is a trend that is growing quickly, and Cloud9 is in a unique position to provide web application developers with one-stop cloud development for web and mobile applications."
