CloudKnox locks up funding with help from Dell

US-based network security software developer CloudKnox Security has publicly launched with $10.8m in funding from investors including Dell Technologies Capital, the corporate venturing vehicle owned by computing hardware producer Dell.

The round was led by ClearSky Security, a cybersecurity-focused fund operated by venture capital and growth equity firm ClearSky, and also featured VC firm Foundation Capital.

Founded in 2016, CloudKnox Security has launched an IT security service called Cloud Security Platform which is designed to protect enterprise networks that are partly run from cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.

The software automatically suggests adjustments to user access privileges based on usage patterns in order to avoid high-risk controls falling into the hands of rogue insiders or intruders exploiting compromised credentials.

CloudKnox Security will funnel the cash into a swift build out of its workforce, focusing on recruitment in engineering, sales and marketing.
