Data storage software provider Cohesity has purchased US-based data management software developer Imanis Data for an undisclosed amount, enabling semiconductor manufacturer Intel and IT services provider Wipro to exit.
Founded in 2013 as Talena, Imanis Data has built a machine learning-powered data management platform that helps users handle data stored across a range of database platforms.
The technology allows enterprises to protect their data, automate migration across databases, identify cybersecurity threats and stay compliant with regulations.
Intel Capital and Wipro Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiaries of Intel and Wipro, took part in a $13.5m funding round for Imanis in March 2018, investing alongside venture capital firms Canaan Partners, Onset Ventures and Asset Plus Capital.
Wipro had previously provided $2.1m of funding for the company in late 2017, adding to $12m series A funding supplied by Wipro Ventures, Intel Capital, Canaan Partners and Onset Ventures in 2015.
