Comcast calls into ConteXtream B round

ConteXtream, a US-based provider of internet network services, has raised $14m in its series B round led by Comcast Interactive Capital, the corporate venturing division of cable company Comcast.

Phone group Verizon’s Verizon Investments and Verizon Ventures units also participated in the B round alongside venture capital firms Benhamou Global Ventures, Gemini Israel Funds, Norwest Venture Partners and Sofinnova Ventures.

Louis Toth, senior managing director of Comcast Interactive Capital, " We invested in ConteXtream because, by cloud enabling our network, its Service Delivery Grid can help us continue to deliver exciting new services to our customers in a cost-effective way."

ConteXtream’s Service Delivery Grid was launched at the same time as the B round was closed and it is in trials with broadband operators ahead of its use next year. The company said it had raised $29m in total since launch in 2006.
