Comcast stars in Nebula’s $25m round

US-based media company Comcast’s corporate venturing helped US-based cloud company Nebula raise $25m in September.

Comcast Ventures led the B round alongside venture firms Highland Capital, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Innovation Endeavors.

The equity and debt financing was also backed by angels Andy Bechtolsheim, David Cheriton and Ram Shriram. Investors that participated include Harris Barton, William Hearst III, Scott McNealy and Maynard Webb.

US-based bank Silicon Valley Bank is also providing debt and credit facilities.

Louis Toth, managing director at Comcast Ventures, said:  “We invest in companies that innovate with open source projects and teams that are focused on creating game-changing disruption. After spending several years looking at this market, we are confident that Nebula is the company that will bring private cloud infrastructure to the enterprise.”
