Comparably recruits corporates to raise $7.3m

US-based recruitment and compensation data provider Comparably has raised approximately $7.3m in a round that included mass media company Comcast and Cornerstone on Demand, a supplier of human resources management software.

Venture capital firm Greycroft led the round, which also featured Crosslink Capital, Upfront Ventures, Lowercase Capital, Alpha Edison, Accelerator Ventures and Rincon Venture Partners. Comcast participated through Comcast Ventures, its corporate venturing subsidiary.

Comparably offers a data platform focusing on employee satisfaction and compensation, allowing individuals to see how their employers compare to others and enabling enterprises to review their own operations.

Users can also anonymously signal interest to recruiting businesses through the platform. Roughly 1,500 companies have set up profile pages on Comparably, and the startup plans to use the round to increase that number while continuing to develop its tools, it told VentureBeat.

The new funding comes after a $6m round announced by Comparably at the time of its March 2016 launch. The earlier round was led by Crosslink Capital and included Upfront, Lowercase, Alpha Edison, Crosscut, Rincon and Pritzker Group.
