CompStak, a US-based provider of leasing information for the commercial real estate sector, has secured $12m in a series B round featuring real estate management software producer RealPage.
Investment firm IA Capital led the round, which was filled out by venture capital firms Canaan Partners and 500 Startups.
Founded in 2011, CompStak provides a database of crowdsourced commercial lease deals, sales compensation and property information for use by real estate-focused private equity funds, asset managers, banks, investment trusts and hedge funds.
The company will use the series B proceeds to expand into new product segments and grow its member base and headcount. The round increased its total funding to $28m, it said, including an undisclosed amount supplied by credit ratings agency Moody’s Corporation in October 2017.
Canaan led CompStak’s $4.4m series A round in 2014, investing with media group DMGI, Expansion VC and Rubenstein Partners. The company has not disclosed any other rounds but has identified Founder Collective and Silicon Badia as investors.
