Cooliris, a US-based internet browser software for sharing photos and video, has raised $9.6m in its series C round from a consortium including Germany-based phone operator Deutsche Telekom’s T-Venture corporate venturing unit.
In November, Sebastian Blum, a managing director at T-Venture, the most influential corporate venturing unit in the utilities and telecoms sector, joined portfolio company Cooliris as a vice president of business development.
Venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers led the round, which included peers DAG Ventures and Westly Group.
Cooliris previously raised about $20m, according to data provider Crunchbase.
T-Venture, which invests on behalf of Germany’s national phone operator Deutsche Telekom, invested in Cooliris in July last year from its Connected Life and Work Fund as part of Cooliris’ $15m series B round that included venture capital firms Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, DAG Ventures and Westly Group.
