Credant, a data protection company backed by US-based technology company Cisco and US-based semiconductor company Intel’s corporate venturing unit, has sold to computer maker Dell. Terms were not disclosed.
Credant secures more than 2 million “endpoints”.
Credant was founded in 2001 and is headquartered in Addison, Texas. It was incubated by venture firm Austin Ventures. Besides Austin, Intel Capital and Cisco, Credant has also previously been backed by venture firms Menlo Ventures and Crescendo Ventures.
