Networking equipment producer Cisco took part in a $25m funding round for Israel-based cloud data management service provider CTera Networks on Tuesday.
The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners and included fellow venture capital firm Vintage Investment Partners. It increased the company’s overall financing to almost $70m.
CTera has developed a file services management system that integrates endpoint, office and cloud file services, meaning businesses can securely synchronise and utilise data using a single cloud platform that operates behind a customer’s firewall.
Liran Eshel, co-founder and CEO of CTera, said: “With organisations increasingly looking to modernize their data infrastructures, CTera is uniquely poised to provide secure tools that offer easy and globally accelerated access to files and backups.
“This newly announced investment round will enable CTera to deliver best-in-class products, support and service to an even broader collection of forward-thinking enterprise customers.”
Cisco first invested in the company as part of its $11m series B round in 2012, providing the cash alongside Benchmark Capital and Venrock. All three were joined by Bessemer for a $25m series C round two years later.
