Culture Machine, a Singapore-based company that provides YouTube users with tools to create, promote and monetise videos, has secured $18m in a series B round featuring media company Times Internet, DealCurry reported yesterday.
Fund manager Tiger Global led the round, which also included venture capital fund Zodius Capital. Zodius funded a series A round for Culture Machine in September 2014 reportedly sized between $3.5m and $4.5m.
The company’s network of channels reached 40 million views per month last year. Apart from the original content created through its platform, it also aggregates content from third-party media companies including Fox Star Studios, ComedyTime and Times of India.
