CyberAgent Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of the eponymous Japan-based network company, has invested $500,000 in Polydice, the Taiwanese start-up behind recipe-themed social network iCook.tw.
ICook has more than 70,000 registered users, with more than 10,000 user posting recipes on its platform in less than a year of operation.
In July last year CyberAgent opened an office in Taiwan and most recently in Korea.
Its prior deal was in April by backing Hoolai Game, a China-based social game developer for QZone founded at the end of 2010 by Zhang Li Li
The investment came from CA-JAIC China Internet Fund II, which is jointly managed by CyberAgent Ventures and Japan Asia Investment Company.
