Networking technology producer Juniper Networks is set to acquire US-based malware protection technology provider Cyphort, allowing computing company Dell to exit.
Juniper has announced its intention to go through with the acquisition but neither company has disclosed the price. The deal is expected to close in the next month.
Cyphort has developed software that works in tandem with an enterprise’s existing cybersecurity products to analyse and compile data on malware, in order to help analysts and cyber protection teams deal with the threat more effectively.
Post-acquisition, the company’s technology will be combined with Cyphort’s Sky ATP cyber threat protection offering.
The deal will follow more than $53m in venture funding, including $30m in a mid-2015 series C round led by Sapphire Ventures that included fellow venture capital firms Foundation Capital, Matrix Partners and Trinity Ventures.
Dell did not reveal details of its investment at the time, but Cyphort is part of the portfolio disclosed by its corporate venturing unit, Dell Technologies Capital, when it emerged from stealth in May this year.
