Demisto, a US-based cybersecurity technology developer backed by messaging platform Slack, has closed a $43m series C round led by venture capital firm Greylock Partners.
Several existing shareholders also participated in the round, though only venture capital firms Accel and ClearSky were named.
Founded in 2015, Demisto’s Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (Soar) platform helps coordinate and automate standardised responses to potential cyberthreats. The platform can also secure cloud environments and lets staff visualise attacks.
The series C funding will go towards global expansion efforts, strengthening Demisto’s market position and expanding the usage of the Soar platform beyond security operations centres.
Demisto has now raised $69m in funding. Slack backed a $20m series B round in February 2017 through its Slack Fund, while ClearSky and Accel also contributed funds.
Accel led a $6m series A round in 2016 when Demisto emerged from stealth. The round also featured angel investors Stuart McClure, Kevin Mahaffey and Mike Fey.
Sarah Guo, general partner at Greylock, said: “Demisto is rapidly gaining momentum as the leading security operations platform.
“We are excited to lead Demisto’s series C, and look forward to supporting Demisto as it builds an important security company that helps a global customer base get leverage against adversaries.”
