Dicom Grid, a US-based cloud platform for medical images, raised $6m in funding on Thursday in a round featuring not-for-profit medical research practice Mayo Clinic.
The round was led by venture capital firm Canaan Partners, with participation by CHL Medical Partners and several private investors.
Dicom offers a platform that makes digital medical imaging accessible to medical facilities and physicians. The new funding will be utilised for further development of its image platform and the creation of strategic opportunities within the industry.
Founded in 2006, Dicom raised $7.5m in its series A round from Canaan and CHL Medical in 2010. The companies invested again in a $5m series B round in 2012 alongside some private investors.
